These super seedchocolate clusters are such a fun and nutritious treat. Delicious and filled with magnesium, anti oxidants and omega 3 goodness!
Nutritious treat
I am always thinking of fun ways to get nutritious goodness like seeds into myself and family. I love to pulse seeds into a flour and make brownies, cookies and date balls. Any way to hide seeds, I’m in.
But I made these clusters with the kids the other day as a ‘home schooling activity’ and as soon as the saw the chocolate melt into the seeds, they were hooked.
They didn’t even wait for the chocolate to set. They dived straight in. Needless to say these clusters were a hit. Seeds all fully intact just covered in chocolate! This is definitely a great way to introduce whole seeds into your kids diet. Slowly slowly wean off the chocolate and they just may tolerate the seeds as they are.
Easy snacking
These super seed clusters are so simple to make. To suit your preference you can add nuts or coconut chips into the mix, so many variations of these clusters could work.
Make your own chocolate
If you don’t have a chocolate bar at home, then try making your own chocolate. In a bowl add together:
- 1/3 cup cacao or cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Mix these altogether and you have homemade and super fast chocolate that sets perfectly when chilled.
Lunch box friendly
As these clusters are nut free they are the perfect lunch box treat for children in school. My kids really did enjoy these. And I will definitely be adding these to their lunch boxes next week.
They store amazingly in the fridge. Just keep in an air tight containers so it doesn’t taste get that fridge smell!
Hope you enjoy these ❤️
