I’m not even exaggerating with the Simple as 123 title. This strawberry chia jam is SO easy to make plus a majorly healthy alternative to the typical jam we have stocked in our fridges. You can add this on Toast, Yogurt, Porridge, Muffins, Scones anything really! And you wont have to feel guilty with all the sugar, preservatives and other stankyness in regular shop bought Jams.
You might be thinking hey, Jam making sounds way to domesticated for me. But that’s it, it sounds like a big deal but its really not. Made with JUST fresh strawberries, natural sweetener of your choice and some chia seeds. This jam takes about 15 mins in total, just store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freezer for 3 months (Will defo not last that long)
The two main stars of this show:
Chia seeds are some serious seeds. Packed with protein research chia seeds have 15 times more magnesium than broccoli, three times more iron than spinach, six times more calcium than milk, and two times more potassium than bananas. That’s bananas right! These seeds make us feel fuller for longer as they absorb 10 times their weight in water. When digested the seeds expand and like a sponge suck up our digestive juices, expanding in the empty spaces in our stomach making us feel fuller for longer. Whoa sciencey.
Strawberries! These little red juicy thangs give us more then their cuteness, they are also packed with good stuff. They are an excellent source of Vitamin C which helps our immune system. Most importantly Strawberries are also an antioxidant. Antioxidants stop or at least help prevent the forming of deadly Oxidants in our bodies which can damage our immune system and cause horrid illnesses like heart disease and cancer. One cup of strawberries contains almost all of the recommended Vitamin C also includes Collagen, that stuff that is in most expensive face creams nowadays? Yup, Collagen among many other things is said to help with the effects of ageing on our skin (Strawberry face mask anyone?). Seriously the benefits of strawberries are endless but this isn’t a science blog so I don’t want you guys sleeping on me!

OMG!! this is so much better then the crap i always buy
thankssss!
The recipe was really easy to follow but mine tasted a little sour with the agave nectar. I might try honey next time.
Oh really? Sorry to hear it was a little sour Sahra. I tried with both and tasted sweet enough to me. Maybe a bit more agave would have been better for you. But defo try honey hopefully should be sweeter.
