Healthy, fudgy and flavourful peanut butter and cacao oat balls, tasty nutritious balls of joy satisfying all types of chocolate cravings.
So Ramadan is coming to an end sadly. I really hope we all got the most out of it! Having said that many of us are going to have lots of dates left hanging about in the kitchen. As Muslims in Ramadan we break our fast with dates and typically there are loads left at the end of this month. Making date balls as a snack is a great way of using up your dates.
Great for:
- Snacking (to stop you from reaching for the nearest sugary junk)
- Pre/Post work out
- Lunch box filler for kids AND adults
Made with my favourite and most used ingredients; Peanut butter, dates, oats, and cacao. A match made in heaven. I store these date balls in the fridge so they last the whole week. They are a great pick me up snacks especially after nursery pick ups. A little something to tide them over until lunch time.
You don’t have a food processor?
Get that food processor out and make these sweet balls of joy! If you don’t have one I highly recommend getting one, it is such a useful gadget if you love making home made snacks. A food processor is NOT the same as a smoothie blender. I have tried this mistake before…honestly save your self time energy and money. I almost blew my smoothie blender so many times trying to ground down dates and nuts. It just doesn’t work, totally different blades.
With a food processor you can breakdown things like oats, nuts and dried fruit very fast and gives you an endless list of recipes you can make.
Great thing about these balls is that they are made in a matter of minutes and can be enjoyed throughout the whole week This specific recipe gives me around 17 balls. I literally have to hide them in the back of the fridge as the kids could eat about 6 in one go they had their own way.
Enjoy. ❤️
