Chewy, fudgy and HEALTHY brownies coming at ya! Delicious guilt free date fudge brownies that will have the whole family hooked!
So you want the fudgy, dense, amazingness of brownies WITHOUT feeling like you need to do some major cardio after. Enter my date fudge brownies. So good and a great alternative to the more sugary and buttery versions floating around on the internet. These really deliver. Okay so they are not the typical brownies your used to but hey what do you expect with healthier treats?
But don’t despair, they ARE delicious and my little boys were having a blast scoffing them down.
So so simple to make. Just soak the dates in hot water and then throw all the ingredients in to a blender or food processor. Pour in to a tray and then bake. Done. Girl no I’m not lying.
I made a cheeky chocolate drizzle for added sweetness as my family agreed it needed some after making these with out a drizzle before. Just a little cacao, pure maple syrup and vanilla powder.
Dates, Cacao and Oats – with these amazing ingredients these brownies could even be breakfast!
These ingredients are great sources of vitamins and minerals, I can even have these in the morning can’t I? I’m telling you they offer your body way more then sugary cereal. But really these are perfect for damn near every part of the day morning/lunch/after dinner. The strong chocolate flavour from the pure cacao powder really does kill any chocolate craving you may get.
These take 30 mins to make from start to finish so make sure you give them a try!

Pit and then soak the dates in a half cup of water in a saucepan. Let the dates simmer on medium heat for about 5 mins.
-
When soften add the dates into a blender or food processor, add the rest of the other ingredients and blend.

Once the batter is smooth, line parchment paper on a tray and pour in the batter. Bake for 20 min in oven at 170*C
To make the chocolate drizzle
-
Mix together 2 tablespoons of pure cacao powder, 2 tablespoons of pure maple syrup or honey/agave , 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 1 teaspoon vanilla powder/extract.
-
(If the cacao taste is too strong maybe add a teaspoon of milk) OR just use melted dark chocolate instead!
Recipe Notes
**PS these get BETTER the longer you leave them. Try making them at night and then keep in fridge or in a air tight container and have them the next day. They get way more fudgy this way!!**
I just wanted to say I made these for my kids to curb their chocolate bar desires. If they knew I had packed massive amounts of dates they would have never tried it,thanks so much. They do taste ‘datey’ if you know what I mean but still so easy to make and delicious.
They kept asking for more 😯
So happy I made them. I never make recipes usually 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Hi Amal, that’s exactly why I made them. To stop them from eating regular shop bought brownies and it’s soooo worked. Thanks for trying them out!!
