3 ingredient chocolate orange jaffa balls so delicious and nutritious you won’t believe it. So fudgy and dense these can’t be healthy?!
My ultimate favourite snack before I gave up refined white sugar and processed stuff was Jaffa cakes. I mean seriously those little circles of goodness are so good and addictive it’s crazy! The flavour of chocolate AND orange marry so well together, the combination of the two is a dream come true for my taste buds.
So I thought how can I imitate this chocolate and orange flavour in a healthy way so that I don’t have to feel guilty AND my kids can scoff them down too. Many energy or bliss balls have nuts and oats in them. But I wanted to keep these very simple and add as little ingredients as possible.
So I did, these tasty balls only include:
- Dates
- Cacao
- Orange/Orange flavouring
Just wack everything in the food processor and BAM – chocolate orange deliciousness!
So so simple and so so so good for you.
Why are these good for me you ask?
Dates are so rich in vitamins they are seen as a natural vitamin supplement. So if your not a fan of swallowing large pills in the morning. Try having some dates instead! They are packed with calcium, magnesium and iron. I’m anaemic so dates really help with my iron levels. Dates also provide high doses of Vitamin A,K, Folic acid (essential for pregnant women) and thiamine.
Cacao is said to have one of the most highest concentration of antioxidant of food in the world, which helps fight diseases like cancers and keep our bodies fighting fit. Cacao is also a fantastic mood booster.
So guys I have combined the two super foods and created beautiful jaffa balls that will seriously have you popping them like popcorn.
